Istanbul Airport IST/ LTFM is now the main airport in Turkey. It replaced Istanbul Ataturk Airport ISL/LTBA in April 2019 after its official opening.
Istanbul Ataturk Airport ISL/LTBA is closed to scheduled/unscheduled domestic and international commercial passenger flights. But ISL will be available for general aviation, along with cargo, maintenance/technical flights, air taxi, business flights, state aircraft and other flights permitted by authority.
Sabiha Gokcen International Airport SAW/LTFJ, also in Istanbul, is another important international airport.
Initial landing and final departure in Turkey must be from an international airport.
